Having confidence means that you view yourself favourably. You know that you can do what you need to do, that you have the skills and talents to be able to handle yourself. Remaining confident is not always easy. But if you can use a mindful strategy to help you boost your confidence, you’ll be amazed!

With confidence, you are able to trust that your instincts and abilities are good enough. If you lack confidence, you might find that you struggle to accept who you are. As a result, you’ll lack the confidence to do things because you don’t trust that you can. It’s a bit of a vicious cycle!

There may be times when you go through life feeling as if you’re not educated enough. Maybe you won't feel skilled enough, smart enough, talented enough, or pretty enough. You judge yourself, often thinking of what you could say or do, and feeling like you always fall short. It is time to develop a mindful strategy to get you out of this way of thinking.

Mindfulness can help you build your confidence. It will help you replace the feeling that you’re not "good enough" with the trust that you are. Using mindfulness calls for you to not dwell on your past. Or on any negative experiences, where you feel that you failed or fell short.

Mindfulness helps you to focus on who you are right now, not on the future, or on what you hope to be. Developing a mindful strategy for confidence will help you to see that you are good enough right now.

Mindfulness and mindful living can lead you to a life settled in the present. With living in the present comes a non-judgmental acceptance of who you are.

Many of us have an internal voice that can be ugly. This inner voice has been conditioned to speak this way by us. The truth is that when we allow this internal voice to determine how we live, we can trigger stress and anxiety.

This self-talk has a direct impact on how you feel about yourself. Learn to be aware of this negative self-talk. If you call yourself names, that’s a sign that you’ve been engaging in negative self-talk. Which can lower your confidence and self-esteem.

Getting rid of negative self-talk

Some people call themselves stupid or an idiot. When they consider doing something, this internal self-talk tells them why they can’t. They’ll say to themselves things like “I’m not smart enough” or “I’m too dumb to do it.”

Allowing these thoughts to run rampant, develops the mindset that you can’t do something. For example that you’re unworthy. Then your feelings follow that internal self-talk until it becomes a belief.

This habit can be so ingrained that the negative self-talk continually plays in your mind. So much so that it becomes like white noise. Mindfulness brings your attention to the inner dialogue that is eroding your self-esteem. This is why you need to develop a mindful strategy, to stop these thoughts before they take over!


You learn what this internal conversation is doing to you and how it’s impacting your emotions. Mindfulness helps you learn to accept who you are without expectations or blaming. You’ll gain skills that you can use to determine how to raise your confidence and acceptance of yourself.
